Raj B Shetty’s Coffee Gang Studios presents Roopanthara (Kannada)

Filmmaker and actor Raj B Shetty, who was last seen in Mammootty’s Turbo unveiled the first-look poster of his upcoming project Roopantara. The film features Shetty as an actor and also as a presenter, with his production house Coffee Gang Studios. The filmmaker revealed that the production house will be distributing the film in theaters.

Roopantara is written and directed by Mithilesh Edavalath and produced by Suhan Prasad and Parth Jaani under the Janani Entertainment and Mango Pickle Entertainment banners. The film has an ensemble cast which includes Shetty. Midhun Mukundan handles the music while Praveen Shriyan cranks the camera.

Sakkath Studios announces its star-studded cast for Maryade Prashne (Kannada)

The first feature film from RJ Pradeepa’s production house Sakkath Studios was announced earlier this year. Titled Maryade Prashne, the film is directed by Nagaraja Somayaji and is reportedly set in the Chamrajpete area of Bengaluru. Now, the makers have announced the ensemble cast of the film, which includes Teju Belawadi, Suneel Raoh, Shine Shetty, Rakesh Adiga, Poorncahandra Mysore, Shwetha Prasad, Hariharan V, and more. Produced by RJ Pradeepa, the film has music by Arjun Ramu and cinematography by Sandeep Valluri.

Vijay Kumar’s Bheema gets a release date (Kannada)

Actor Vijay Kumar will be making his sophomore directorial with Bheema. The crime film will reportedly be released on August 9, after previously being scheduled for an Independence Day release. The film is his second directorial effort after Salaga.

Bheema is written and directed by Vijay Kumar and is backed by Krishna Sarthak and Jagadeesh Gowda under the Krishna Creations and Jagadeesh Films banners. Charan Raj composes the music while Shiva Sena handles the cinematography.

Ganesh’s Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi gets a release date (Kannada)

Ganesh’s 41st film Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi is all set to release in theaters on August 15. The makers of the romantic comedy unveiled the news at a grand single launch event where they also released the song ‘Chinnamma’ from the film. The film will see Ganesh return to the screens after last year’s Banadariyalli.

Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi is directed by Srinivas Raju and is backed by Trishul Entertainments. Malavika Nair, Sahu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu, and more feature in the film. Arjun Janya handles the music while Venkat Prasad cranks the camera.

Suriya’s Kanguva gets a release date (Tamil)

Suriya’s long-awaited fantasy film Kanguva finally received a release date. After multiple delays and postponements, the film will reportedly be released on October 10. The film will see Suriya portray six different roles, with the story spanning several timelines.

Kanguva is written and directed by Siva and is backed by KE Gnanavel Raja, Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the Studios Green and UV Creations banners. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad while Nirav Shah handles the camera. It also stars Yogi Babu, Bobby Deol, Jagapathi Babu, Disha Patani, and more.

Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 finally gets its official trailer (Tamil)

While Kamal Haasan had a brief role in the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898AD, the legendary actor is all set to grace the screens after two years with Indian 2. The makers released the official trailer of the film, which sees Senapathi return as a vigilante amidst growing corruption in the country. The trailer also shows Haasan in multiple looks.

Indian 2 is directed by Shankar and is backed by the Lyca Productions banner. The film also stars Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Nedumudi Venu, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, and more. It has music by Anirudh and cinematography by Ravi Varman. The film is all set to release on July 12.

Ajith Kumar’s Good, Bad, Ugly unveils second look (Tamil)

Ajith Kumar will be seen in the action film Good, Bad, Ugly. While the actor’s 62nd film Vidamuyarchi is yet to release, the makers of his 63rd film have released the second look poster. The poster sees Ajith Kumar in a prison outfit (with the number 63), striking a badass pose. The previous poster also indicated Kumar playing an unhinged character.

Good, Bad, Ugly is written and directed by Adhik Ravichandran and is backed by Mythri Movie Makers. Devi Sri Prasad handles the music while Abhinandan Ramanujam handles the camera. The rest of the cast details are yet to be revealed.

Committee Kurrollu’s first single is here (Telugu)

The second single from the coming-of-age drama Committee Kurrollu was released earlier this week. Titled, Prema Gaaradi, the song is a romantic ballad crooned by Armaan Malik and composed by Anudeep Dev, with Kittu Vissarpragada writing the lyrics. The song was released by Rashmika Mandanna through her social media channels.

Committee Kurrollu is directed by Yadhu Vamsi and is backed by Nikarika Konidela under the Pink Elephant Pictures banner. The film features many debutants including Sandeep Saroj, Yashwanth, and Eshwar Trinath Varma, along with Sai Kumar and Sri Lakshmi.

Dileesh Pothan’s Gumasthan gets its first look (Malayalam)

The makers of the legal drama Gumasthan recently released the first-look poster of the film. Starring Bibin George and Dileesh Pothan, the poster sees a sketch of the two actors along with Shaiju Sreedhar and various court-related artefacts. The film is directed by Amal K Joby and backed by Muzafir Film Company. Stephan Devassy handles the music.

Antony Varghese’s next is Daveed (Malayalam)

Antony Varghese, who was last in Chaver and RDX, will be next seen in Daveed. The film was launched earlier this week, with a ceremony featuring the cast and crew. Daveed is directed by debutante Govind Vishnu and is backed by Century Max John Mary Productions LLP, Panorama Studios, Aby Alex Abraham, and Tom Joseph. Salu K Thomas handles the cinematography while Justin Varghese handles the music.
