Movie Details of Refugee:

Music: Anu Malik

Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Label: Saregama Music

Director: J.P. Dutta

The 2000 movie launched two (more) star kids into Bollywood, both of whom have had varying levels of success since then. The movie was more memorable for its music though, created by composer Anu Malik and lyricist Javed Akhtar, who had both worked together with director J P Dutta in the past, and would again. The duo produced some exceptional romantic pieces for the soundtrack, Anu Malik even borrowing an old composition of his father for one of the songs.

Best Song of Refugee: Panchhi Nadiyan, the song in which Akhtar aptly captures the movie's love-across-the-border theme; Anu Malik beautifully complementing the words with a soft melody, and Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik with some fab singing.
