Shah Rukh Khan Announces His Next Film Dunki With Rajkumar Hirani

Soon after announcing the release date of his upcoming film Pathaan in January 2023, Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to officially confirm his next film, titled Dunki, with director Rajkumar Hirani. This would mark the first collaboration of the actor-director duo.

The title announcement video starts with the actor praising Hirani's previous work, which includes 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai MBBS and PK. He asks whether the director has anything in store for him, when he replies, 'Ek script hai.' The video further gives a sneak peek of the genre of the film – a mix of comedy, emotions and romance, minus SRK's signature pose, as teased by Hirani. The final shot of the video included a zoomed-out clip of people walking in a deserted land as the shadow of a plane passes by.

Starring Taapsee Pannu alongside Khan, the film is written by Kanika Dhillon, Abhijaat Joshi and Hirani himself, and will be co-produced by Hirani and Gauri Khan. Heading for a Christmas 2023 release, it is set to clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
