Jawan has had a remarkable opening in India, earning Rs. 75 crore on day-one with a significant portion from the Hindi version. The film continued to perform brilliantly, collecting Rs. 53.23 crore on Friday and Rs. 77.83 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, it surpassed expectations by collecting Rs. 81 crore in the domestic box office. As per Sacnilk Entertainment, the film's total domestic collection stands at an impressive ₹287 crore over the weekend.

Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi said, “It is well on its way to creating history because they have already had the highest single day collection ever in the history of movies. It is going on with some phenomenal momentum.”

By the looks of it, the film’s collection will exceed all of the films that have been released this year due to its pan-India appeal. Rathi added, “The beauty of Jawan is the fact that it truly integrates and brings together two fraternities that actually complement each other when it comes to business. Because Tamil Nadu is a very robust market, it's actually got a very high density of screens, very high footfalls, and a very solid traction for its superstars.”

Film producer and distributor G. Dhananjeyan said, “South India has almost contributed Rs. 90 to 95 crores. In four days, that means out of worldwide collection, about 15% to 20% has come from South India. Which is phenomenal.” He added, “No Hindi film has earned so much from South India. The film has done a lot of business in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Everybody is surprised and they're also delighted by the kind of opportunity South India is giving to Hindi cinema now.”

Rathi spoke about Jawan’s success being aided by many factors, “Here you've got not just Nayanthara, who's an absolute star there, but also a phenomenal talent like Anirudh Ravichander, who has a fan following of his own. Additionally, a super commercial filmmaker like Atlee, whose films people look forward to, and Vijay Sethupathi, who brings in a lot of meat to a film. All this coupled with the presence of a superstar like Mr Shah Rukh Khan, really bought the Hindi and Tamil markets together to jointly fire at the box office.”

According to reports from Sacnilk, Jawan is the fastest Bollywood movie to reach the Rs. 500 crore mark at the global box office. It grossed approximately Rs. 530 crores in its extended four-day weekend run.

After the historic numbers over the weekend, Jawan is now on track to become an all-time box office hit, and have a greater collection than Gadar 2, and Shah Rukh’s last film, Pathaan.
