Yash Raj Films Enters OTT-sphere With Web-Series Starring Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, And Babil Khan

Yash Raj Films is synonymous with theatrical pride. Their Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge ran at Maratha Mandir for 1,274 weeks. At the onset of the pandemic, when most production houses were negotiating direct to streaming releases, Yash Raj stayed put, refusing to release any film from its slate direct to OTT.

In this context, Yash Raj creating content for OTT, their first such project, is a welcome surprise — the big, traditional cinema house is finally experimenting with digital. YRF's streaming content production business will be called YRF Entertainment and it will produce five marquee projects in its first year. They announced The Railway Men, about "the unsung heroes of 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy". It stars Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, And the late Irrfan's son, Babil Khan. Directed by debutante director Shiv Rawail, the show premieres on December 2, 2022, on the anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
