Multiple national award winner, actor Nedumudi Venu passed away this morning in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, where he was under treatment, reported Malayala Manorama.
A prolific actor, Nedumudi Venu has acted in over 500 films, winning multiple national and state awards for his performances. He began his career as a journalist, slowly moving to theatre, before embracing cinema full-time with G Aravindan's Thampu in 1978.
Since then, he has acted in several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films such as Bharatham, His Highness Abdullah, Dasaratham, Chitram etc. and the more recent ones like Charlie and North 24 Kaatham. He has also acted in a handful of Tamil films including Shankar's Indian and Anniyan. He was last seen in the Malayalam anthology film Aanum Pennum. His last Tamil film was Rajiv Menon's Sarvam Thaala Mayam. He was also acting in Shankar's unfinished Indian 2.
