Language: Tamil

Cast: Ajith Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shraddha Srinath

Director: H.Vinoth

The trailer is here, and surprisingly, it offers the Ajith fan far more than what could have been expected from the remake of Pink. For starters this one of Ajith's rare courtroom dramas and it opens up a side of him that's not often seen in his recent films.

The teaser opens with Ajith, playing a lawyer, asking a woman on the convict stand if she's a virgin. Later, he even repeats the same question, but this time in Tamil. It tricks us into believing that he may be playing a negative character but it soon becomes clear as to why he may have asked that question.

A majority of the teaser is set within the courtroom even though there's enough footage to give us an idea of what's happening around, especially with the character played by Shraddha Srinath. All in all, the teaser promises an exciting film. The haunting background score too is instantly likeable.

Of course, the highlight of the teaser is the promise of a fight scene in the film, which was not a part of the original. An exciting film that the regular audience will be waiting for just as much as the fan.

Nerkonda Paarvai is being produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects. Nirav Shah is the film's cinematographer. Yuvan Shankar Raja returns as composer for an Ajith film after 2013's Arrambam.

Pink, the Hindi original on which it is based, was directed Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. It was written by Shoojit Sircar and Ritesh Shah and it starred Amitabh Bachchan (whose role Ajith Kumar will be reprising), Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari.

The film deals with a retired lawyer stepping in to help three young women clear their names after they get involved in a crime.

H. Vinoth had earlier directed Karthi's super-hit action drama, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru apart from 2014's Sathuranga Vettai.

Ajith himself is coming off the success of Viswasam.
