Alaya F on playing a Journalist in U-Turn: I learnt to ride a scooty

Alaya F will soon be seen in her upcoming crime thriller U-Turn directed by Arif Khan. The film also stars Aashim Gulati and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles.

Alaya, who plays a journalist in the film, spoke about her character and the preparations that went on for her role, she said, “I did countless readings with Arif, till an extent where I asked him how many times are we going to read the script? I love getting into preparations but then I suggested instead of doing a reading we could do a workshop. I did not know how many more times I would sit and read the script again and again. Then we did this one-day workshop just to know lines and get into the skin of the character.”

She continued, “After that, I had to learn how to ride a scooty for this project because it is based on a flyover, and I needed to be able to ride on the flyover. I did not know how to ride one before that, so that’s a life skill I got to learn for the film. It was fun. I used to practice in the parking lot to sharpen my driving because there were a lot of twists and turns and ups and downs, so I used to practice.”

Directed by Khan, U- Turn releases on Zee 5 on April 28.
