First Look of Muthaiah Muralitharan's Biopic ‘800’ is Here

Helmed by MS Sripathy, former cricketer Muthaiah Muralitharan’s biopic is in the making. Madhur Mittal of Slumdog Millionaire fame is Muralitharan and Mahima Nambiyar essays the role of his wife, Madhimalar. 

On the occasion of the cricketer’s 51st birthday, the makers have released the first-look poster of the film. The poster features Mittal with the light reflection of the stumps and bails shining on his face, against the backdrop of a cricket stadium. The title ‘800’ also features the stumps and represents the number of wickets Muralitharan has taken in test matches, a record yet to be broken. 

Releasing a motion poster, the makers wrote, “Presenting the untold story of a legend who spun his way to the top.” The sports biopic co-stars Narain, Nasser, Riythvika and others. Vijay Sethupathi was initially roped in to play Muralitharan but later withdrew from the project in 2020. Produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures, the biopic is expected to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
