Actor Siddharth will be seen in the action film Takkar on June 9. During a promotional event for the film, the actor opened up about his next big film, Indian 2, directed by Shankar. Actor Siddharth was launched as a leading man in Shankar’s Boys (2003) and Indian 2 sees the duo reuniting after 20 years. The sequel to the 1996 vigilante-action film Indian will see Kamal Hassan return as Senapathy.
In the promotional event, Siddharth expressed his gratitude towards the director for introducing him to the world of cinema. While he said he was elated to be part of one of the biggest films in the country, he quickly quipped that Shankar has asked him not to discuss the film.
Speaking of his dream to work with Kamal Haasan, Siddharth added, “More than me, the film is about Kamal Haasan sir and Shankar sir. I can assure you that the film will be 10 times bigger than what you imagine it to be.”
Indian 2 is written and directed by S Shakar, with dialogues by B Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar. It also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Gulshan Grover, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Kalidas Jayaram and Vivek in his last role before he died in 2021. The film is now in its last leg of shooting and is expected to be a late 2023 or early 2024 release.
Subaskaran of Lyca Productions and Udayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies produce the film. While Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music, R Rathnavelu and Ravi Varman are the cinematographers and Sreekar Prasad is the editor.
