Kamal Haasan Joins Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's Project K

The official confirmation is here. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan joined the cast of Nag Ashwin's Project K, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. The makers released an announcement video, welcoming Haasan. In the video, as the words "We needed someone whose shadow could cover the earth. There was only one" appear on screen, a montage of Haasan's best performances from different films including Avvai Shanmugi (1996) and Vikram (2022) follow.

Sharing the same on Twitter, Haasan thanked Amitabh Bachchan and wrote, "I am eagerly waiting for Project K. Whatever position the audience place me at, my primary quality is that I am a film buff. That quality will keep applauding any new attempt in my industry. Let mine be the first applause for Project K. With our director Nag Ashwin's vision I am sure that applause will echo across our country and the world of cinema."

The sci-fi film is slated to hit the screens on Jan 2024 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages.
