Monica, O My Darling: Rajkummar Rao is the Prince of Angola

The con is on with Monica, O My Darling, the teaser for which was unveiled at a recent Netflix event. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi, the film is a noir comedy directed by Vasan Bala, best known for Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota (2018).  

In the teaser, Rao is presented as "prince of Angola" and we see glimpses of other characters, including Qureshi in a boss-lady avatar, Apte speaking in a tapori accent, and Sikander Kher dishing out abuses. We're given a hint of the con with the opening scene in which Rao tells a confused-looking Akansha Ranjan that he is from a tiny, unheard of place in India called… you guessed it, Angola. The teaser ends with Qureshi hacking at a tiger statue and Rao seemingly jumping off a building. 

Monica, O My Darling is written and directed by Vasan Bala, and produced by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil. The film will premiere on Netflix soon.
