Neena Gupta on Uunchai: I was overwhelmed by the response of the film

In a recent media interview, Neena Gupta spoke about the response to her last release Uunchai has been receiving from the audience after the film is released on the streaming platform.

“I was overwhelmed by the response of the film. I believe if you enjoy doing your work people are bound to like it. Our camaraderie in the film and Sooraj ji’s direction and the whole units warmth it all comes across when you see the film. I was very excited that a lot of people went and saw the film in the theatres and whole lot of people came to me and said that we took our families, and children to the theatre. I have not heard a single negative thing about the film specially for my role,” Gupta said.

Talking about watching the film on streaming platform Zee5, Gupta said, “I think people have become lazy to go to theatres and watch a film. COVID has changed a lot and people prefer to see it on OTT but slowly I have a feeling it will change like it did happen in the case of Uunchai people did go to theatres and saw it. There were people who couldn't go for various reasons, they will have this opportunity to see it on ZEE5.”

Produced and directed by Sooraj Barjatya, Uunchai was headlined by Amitabh Bachchan, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Sarika, Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra and Gupta in important roles
