Social media is rife with speculations about major changes to the highly awaited Mahesh Babu-Trivikram film, Guntur Kaaram.
There have been reports about the film's lead actress Pooja Hegde opting out of the project due to scheduling conflicts after the film's shooting beheld multiple delays. There are also speculations about music composer S Thaman being replaced but producer Naga Vamsi's response to a tweet refuting the rumour about Thaman's replacement cleared the air on this front. However, clarity is awaited on Pooja's involvement in the project.
Cryptic tweets posted by Thaman on Monday night, indirectly addressing the speculations, have also drawn attention but don't offer clarity. The film, which was originally announced due in May 2021, faced multiple setbacks before full-fledged production was set to commence. However, the makers announced that the film will be released in theatres in January 2024, coinciding with Sankranthi. Although reports expressed doubt about the film's arrival as planned, Naga Vamsi's tweet assures that the film is still on track for the original release date. An official announcement clearing the air about all the existing rumours is expected.
The film co-stars Sree Leela and Jagapathi Babu. The first promo, which was released on May 31 on the occasion of the late superstar Krishna's birthday, amassed over 30 million views so far.
Post Guntur Kaaram, Mahesh is expected to collaborate with SS Rajamouli while Trivikram is set to join forces with Allu Arjun for the third time.
