Puneet Raj Kumar to be Conferred with Karnataka’s Highest Civilian Award

Puneet Raj Kumar will be conferred with the Karnataka Ratna, the highest civilian award from the government of Karnataka. The award will be presented to the late actor before the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on November 1, which also happens to be Kannada Rajyotsav, the state’s formation day.

Making the announcement, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, "Puneet Raj Kumar is a real Karnataka Ratna as he has remained in the hearts of people permanently through his achievements during his life. He must always be the source of inspiration for youths and for this purpose this award will be given to him posthumously,"

The award ceremony — which is expected to be attended by noted personalities from the worlds of film and culture, as well as Kumar’s family members — will take place on November 1 at 5 pm.
