Pathaan has stirred, shaken and stormed the box office – both in India and globally. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer reached new heights this Friday – its sixth one in the theatres – and became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, raking in 511 crores in India. The film crossed the lifetime earnings of the defending champion, S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), whose Hindi version has the lifetime earnings of 510.99 crores.

Director Siddharth Anand took to Twitter to share the “proud moment” and thanked the fans who “encouraged the film”. Despite releasing over a month ago, Pathan is running comfortably in theatres. Only time will tell if Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, which releases next week, will weaken its chokehold over box office numbers.
