During the Film Companion interview, Shahid Kapoor who recently made his streaming debut with web series Farzi spoke about his working experience with Farzi directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK popularly known as Raj and DK.
“They gave me a lot of freedom. I have realized with time I really excel when people give me their trust and they really gave me a lot of their trust. I was very disruptive in my approach to the character, I had a hunch that I don't want to play him (Sunny, Kapoor’s character name in the series) a certain way and I hadn't shared that with them because I was not sure about it myself and it was coming to me as I was prepping.”
He further added, “I'm very instinctive now the way I do stuff because I feel like, sometimes your process starts becoming a pattern and that pattern starts showing in your performances and then the audience kind of knows the pattern, and then your performances stop being fresh.”
“They allowed me the opportunity to discover, they spent 6 months talking to me about the character and developed the large part of the show kind of keeping me involved, bringing me into the character and listening to my point of view, and trusting me on certain things, I was feeling strongly about Sunny.” Kapoor said
Farzi also sees South star Vijay Sethupathi’s streaming debut, the series also has Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Amol Palekar, Raashi Khanna in pivotal roles. Farzi is currently streaming on Prime Video.
