Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 and Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 green-lit, get release dates

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree (2018) has been approved for a sequel. At a recent Jio Studios event, Rao, Kapoor, and key members from the film announced the release date for Stree 2 through a skit. The film is scheduled to hit screens on August 31, 2024.

Bhediya (2022) starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon will also get a sequel with the release date somewhere in 2025. Both Stree 2 and Bhediya 2 will be part of a horror universe directed by Amar Kaushik. In a post-credit scene in Bhediya, Rao and his Stree co-star Aparshakti Khurana also made a cameo setting up the sequel.

Stree’s original cast comprising Rao, Kapoor, Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi are set to reprise their roles for Stree 2. It is unclear if Sanon will join the cast  of Bhediya 2.
