Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri might star in Dhadak 2

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Karan Johar wants to turn Dhadak (2018) into a franchise and therefore has roped in Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri for Dhadak 2. It will also mark the directorial debut of Shazia Iqbal.

According to the source cited by Pinkvilla, “Dhadak was essentially an intense tale of love, with two protagonists fighting the society to live together. The filmmaker (Karan Johar) believes that this zone of going against all odds for love has potential to get a franchise value.”

The source also stated that a cast will be put together in a month, and an A-lister will be cast to play the role of the girl’s father. Dhadak was a remake of the hit Marathi film Sairat (2016), it is yet to be seen if the second installment will be a remake or an original story.
