“Armed with a pen and boundless creativity, a madman transformed his scribbles into scripts that transcended borders (and) presented narratives in ways that hadn’t yet been seen. To one such mad man, we wish Happy Birthday” read the birthday video posted on Sunday by Hombale Films on the occasion of director Prashanth Neel, who took Kannada films to unparalleled heights with his KGF franchise.
The video, with the birthday wish had interspersed footage from sets of Salaar where we can see Prashanth screaming “action” into a mic, directing the crew, playing cricket amongst other things. It also gives us glimpses of Prabhas who is playing the titular character and Shruti Hassan.
Salaar is an upcoming action-thriller that marks the director’s first telugu venture as well as his first collaboration with the Baahubali star. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jagapathi Babu are also part of the cast. The film is produced by Hombale Films who after the humongous pan-India success of KGF, have ventured into Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam with multiple projects in the pipeline.
