Vijay Deverakonda-Gowtam Tinnanuri film officially launched

While it was announced earlier in January that Vijay Deverakonda will be teaming up with filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri for a project, the makers officially launched the film in Hyderabad on Wednesday with a formal pooja ceremony. Sreeleela of Dhamaka fame will be playing the female lead in the film, marking her first collaboration with Vijay and Gowtam.

The makers also that the film, tentatively titled VD 12, will be a period drama. Gowtam will be reuniting with Anirudh Ravichander, who also composed the score for the director's sophomore film, Jersey (2019), for the new film. Notably, popular Malayalam cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, known for his work in films like Vikram (2022) and Jallikattu (2019), is also a part of the film's technical team. Naveen Nooli, who won a National Award for Jersey, and Avinash Kolla will be spearheading the editing and art departments, respectively.

VD 12 will be produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas while Srikara Studios will present it. 

In addition to this film, Vijay has Shiva Nirvana's Kushi, co-starring Samantha, coming up. Sreeleela, on the other hand, has a handful of projects, including SSMB 28, NBK 108 and Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh, to name some, in the pipeline.
