While it was earlier announced the actor Vishwak Sen will be joining forces with lyricist-turned-director Krishna Chaitanya's third directorial venture, the project was launched on Wednesday with a formal Pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. In addition to the core team of the film, the event saw film personilities like Dil Raju, Shyam Singha Roy producer Venkat Boyanapalli and Sudhakar Cherukuri, the producer of Dasara, Dookudu producer Gopi Achanta and filmmaker Venky Atluri, to name some, in attendance.
The makers revealed in a statement that the film will be set in backdrop of Rajamundry in the '90s. Filming of the project is expected to commence in May, the makers shared. Tentatively titled VS11, the film will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is being produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya of Fortune 4 Cinemas while Venkat Uppuluri and Gopichand Innamuri are the co-producers.
The technical crew of VS11 includes director of photography Anita Madhadi, production designer Gandhi Nadikudikar and National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli. Further updates are expected to roll out once the production commences.
Krishna Chaitanya's debut was the 2014 drama, Rowdy Fellow, headlined by Nara Rohith. He followed it with a romantic comedy titled Chal Mohan Ranga, starring Nithiin and Megha Akash, in 2018. Vishwak, on the other hand, was recently seen in Das Ka Dhamki, which he also directed. He also has an untitled film directed by Ravi Teja Mullapudi and co-starring HIT 2-fame Meenakshi Chowdhary and the long-awaited Gaami, in the pipeline.
