Yash Raj Films has decided to take a break from working with Ranveer Singh after three consecutive flops, reported Bollywood Hungama. Of the six films that Singh has done for YRF, only Gunday (2014) wasn’t a flop. Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), and Befikre (2016) were moderately successful while Kill Dil (2014) and Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022) were flops.

Singh rose to fame with his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat and went on to deliver successful films like Padmaavat (2018) and Bajirao Mastani (2015). Unfortunately for YRF, none of those films were produced by them. A source informed Bollywood Hungama “YRF deciding to take a break from Ranveer Singh is temporary. Ranveer may be considered if YRF finds the right script which justifies his presence, and can be mounted on the right mid-budget to safeguard the overall commercial prospects of the movie.”

It also comes at the heels of YRF’s heavy investment in their Spy Universe. After the massive success of Pathaan, and a slate of forthcoming films in this universe, Yash Raj Films has no room for error.

Last year, Singh parted ways with YRF Talent Management. The actor split with the agency when they refused to reduce their commission on his brand endorsements during the contract renewal.
