Director SS Rajamouli's next film, RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR , is one of the most anticipated pan-Indian films that's set to release theatrically on October 13, 2021. On October 6 last year, the team behind Roudram! Ranam! Rudhiram! (RRR) had posted an update on the film's progress by giving us an uplifting making video. This was followed by a surprise update introducing us to one of the two lead characters in the film. More recently, the first look of Alia Bhatt's Sita was released.
Today, the makers have released a video that shows the film's grand and opulent making. Set in pre-Independence India at the time of violent revolutionary activity against the British, we are shown visuals of the film's shooting in the video. We see common Indian people, grand colonial buildings, British actors in period costume, and most importantly — lots of fire and explosions. An entire forest is set on fire, bombs of various types and sizes explode, a burning motorcycle crashes onto a wall, and fire surrounds a little boy in a scene. We also see brief shots of Shriya Saran and Samuthirakani in their characters.
We see a lot of physical stunts and effects (in addition to the many more we will see once the graphics are added). The action appears intense and real, and if the number of explosions in the making video are any indication, the film could feature high octane action like the superbly choreographed setpieces in Baahubali.
Set to MM Keeravani's energetic background score (whose rhythms are synced with some of the explosions on screen) and rap lyrics by Blaaze, the making video suggests that the scale and vision of RRR would be nothing short of Baahubali. The film has cinematography by K. K. Senthil Kumar and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The film's story is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad with dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra.
Produced by Dasari Veera Venkata Danayya of DVV Entertainments, RRR was originally slated to release on January 8, 2021, in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, in addition to Telugu RRR will have its theatrical release on 13 October 2021.
