Shekhar Kammula’s Love Story Trailer Talk: This Sai Pallavi-Naga Chaitanya Romance Places Career As A Catalyst (Not Obstacle) For Love
Updated on

In one of the first big trailer/teaser launches of the new year for Telugu cinema, we got a one-minute teaser of Shekhar Kammula's first film in four years. Titled Love Story, the film stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, with the latter returning to a Kammula film after the blockbuster success of Fidaa.

In first viewing, it appears that both Revanth (Naga Chaitanya) and Mounica (Sai Pallavi) are at some kind of a career crossroads. After starting a dance school, Revanth seems to be struggling to keep it afloat. Similarly, Mounica doesn't seem to be getting her dream IT job that 'guaranteed' job security. That's perhaps when they meet and discuss a collaboration, falling in love in the process. Unlike the usual romances where career plays spoilsport, here it acts as a catalyst, bringing together both of them. The idea may remind one of Ranveer Singh-Anushka Sharma's Band Baaja Baarat, but Kammula's ability to root the film in real rustic sensibilities usually makes all the difference.

Sai Pallavi's dancing ability is sure to contribute a lot to the film's central plot line. The dialogue where Revanth tells Mounica to reconsider the IT job, because it's sure to give her back pain and hair loss, is cheeky coming from the director who has at one point an IT employee in the US.

Watch the teaser here:

A song from the film, titled 'Aye Pilla', released nine months ago to great success and it has already amassed over 90 million views on YouTube.

The background score, culminating in a rousing song towards the end is really impressive too. The music is by Pawan Ch.

We also got the teaser of a biggie KGF: Chapter 2 just a couple of days ago. The teaser for this year's most-awaited Kannada film, directed by Prashant Neel, was released earlier than scheduled, after it was leaked.

The teaser runs on the power of a voiceover that rekindles memories of the first part and takes it a notch up from there. Also, many new cast members have joined the sequel, but we don't get to see them flex their muscles. While actors from Bollywood such as Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon are seen in the teaser, Rao Ramesh from the neighboring Telugu film industry makes a blink-and-miss appearance. Of course, there's also Srinidhi Shetty, and the man of the moment himself putting together a Gatling gun and firing away at police jeeps. It has already broken several records as it touches 111 million views in just a matter of two days.

Hombale Films also announced its new project at exactly 2:09 PM on December 2, 2020. Titled Salaar, the film stars Prabhas, in what's his fourth big film announcement during the lockdown.
