Padmaavat 

At Rs 215 crore, Padmaavat is undoubtedly Sanjay Leela Bhansali's grandest film. The elaborate sets, ornate period costumes, and of course the A-list cast (Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor) doesn't come cheap. 

 Tiger Zinda Hai 

The total budget of YRF's 2017 Christmas release Tiger Zinda Hai amounted to a staggering Rs 210 crore. After all, Tiger is no ordinary spy. As he goes about saving the world, the film covers locations across Abu Dhabi, Greece and Austria. 

Baahubali: The Conclusion 

This Telugu language film that was dubbed in Hindi really pushed the boundaries of what great storytelling and superior VFX can achieve. Filmmaker S S Rajamouli invested 5 years of his life into this franchise, and the hard work paid off. This was certainly Rs 200 crore, well spent!  

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo 

At Rs 180 crore, this family drama starring Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Neil Nitin Mukesh had quite an exorbitant budget. Like all Sooraj Barjatya films, this one too had a big cast, several songs and an elaborate setting.    

Baahubali: The Beginning 

The first part of filmmaker S S Rajamouli's epic saga cost him a total of Rs 175 crore. In 2015, that sort of a budget seemed almost unheard of for an Indian film. In the second part of the movie, the producers took an even bigger gamble on the scale and investment.
