Venkatesh Looks As Intense As Dhanush’s Sivasaami In Asuran’s Telugu Remake Narappa

A day before Telugu superstar Venkatesh Dagubatti's 60th birthday, the makers of his upcoming film 'Narappa', released a 30-second teaser video titled 'Glimpse Of Narappa', introducing his character in the film. A remake of last year's blockbuster Tamil film Asuran, Venkatesh reprises the character played by Dhanush in the Vetrimaaran film. Even though Mani Sharma is said to be the music director in the remake, this new teaser features the same score that was used by GV Prakash Kumar in the original.

In the teaser, we get two shots (one in the day and one during night time) of an angry and intense Narappa getting ready to attack. While he sports a sickle in one, one can see him holding a bamboo stick in the other, while wearing the same brown shirt and head scarf look made popular by Dhanush.

Watch the teaser here:

Asuran featured two timelines, with a flashback with a much younger Dhanush. In Narappa, it will be interesting to see if Venkatesh essays both roles—that of an aggrieved middle-aged father and a younger version of a rebel in his 20's.

Directed by Srikanth Addala (Kotha Bangaru Lokam), the film is being produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and Suresh Babu. Shyam Naidu is the film's cinematographer. Manju Warrier's role from the original is being played by National-Award winning actress Priyamani.

Actor Venkatesh is famous for acting in dozens of remakes which include the Telugu versions of superhits such as Drishyam, Irudhi Suttru, Bodyguard, Chinna Gounder, Chinna Thambi, Priyamaava Thozhi, Gemini, Suryavamsham, Khaakha Khaakha, A Wednesday, Oh My God!, among others.
