In an exclusive interview with Film Companion, A R Rahman who made his production debut with documentary feature Headhunting to Beatboxing which was screened at Cannes Film Festival 2024 spoke to Anupama Chopra about the film and how he was associated with the idea.

The music composer who has won several awards over the years revealed that he doesn’t have some of the awards with him and said that directors have kept the awards with them.

Speaking about how he has placed these huge collection of awards in his house, he said,“There’s a room and then some of them have not come to me. I think some of the directors have kept them like my souvenirs. There’s a room, I have kept the International awards in Dubai because it was wrapped in a towel my mom thought was gold so after she passed away I went to her room took it out and I gave it to the Dubai Firdaus studio in a nice showcase.”

Rahman’s last composed album is Amar Singh Chamkila directed by Imtiaz Ali starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles.
