Aamir Khan to Produce and Rajkumar Santoshi to Direct Sunny Deol Starrer Lahore, 1947

Aamir Khan has announced his next film as a producer, Lahore, 1947. The film will star Sunny Deol in the lead role and be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Khan shared the announcement with a statement on his company's Instagram page and asked fans to bless this new collaboration.

Santoshi and Deol have previously worked together on successful films like Ghayal (1990), Damini (1993) and Ghatak (1996). After competing for years as actors, Khan and Deol will be working together for the first time in a completely new dynamic. Khan’s film Dil (1990) and Deol’s Ghayal were released on the same day while Raja Hindustani (1996) and Ghatak were released within a week of each other. The biggest clash of all came when Lagaan (2001) and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) were both released on the same day, June 15, 2001.

Lahore, 1947 also marks the reunion of Khan and Santoshi, after their cult classic film Andaz Apna Apna (1994). More details about the film's release date, supporting cast and crew are awaited.
