Alia Bhatt’s co-star in Vasan Bala’s film is The Archies actor Vedang Raina

Alia Bhatt has reportedly given her nod to a film being made by Vasan Bala for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. As per a new report, Bhatt's co-star in the film will be actor Vedang Raina, who is gearing up to make his debut with Zoya Akhtar’s film The Archies.

A source close to the project has commented on the decision to cast Raina and said, "The Vasan Bala film will mark his first foray into the world of theatrical business. Karan and Vasan were impressed with his performance in the rushes of The Archies and believe that he fits the bill.”

Sharing more details about the film the source said, “The film will go on floors in September after the reading sessions in August. In August, Alia Bhatt and Vedang will have multiple script reading sessions to break the ice. In fact, there will also be action workshops as the premise of Vasan Bala’s film has ample action. The core plot is centred around a prison break,” 

Bhatt will make her Hollywood debut this year with Heart of Stone, while Raina will share screen space with debutants Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda in The Archies.
