Anil Kapoor to star in Subedar and Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 remake

In a recent interview with Variety, Anil Kapoor revealed that he will star in Suresh Triveni’s Subedar and a remake of the Malayalam-language film Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 (2019). 

Talking about Subedar, Kapoor said, “I have done a lot of action films, but this is a pure action film, a dramatic action film. I’m excited about it.”

Kapoor also has the second part of The Night Manager releasing next month. The show is an adaptation of the 2016 BBC series of the same name, based on John le Carré’s 1993 novel. Talking about the decision to release the series in two parts he said, “In a way, it was a gamble to do it in two parts, but it paid off.”

He’s also featuring in an untitled Abhinav Bindra biopic along with his son Hashvardhan Kapoor, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, and Siddharth Anand’s Fighter. Kapoor also won Best Supporting Actor at the 68th Filmfare Awards for Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022).
