Director Shankar shares a VFX update on Kamal Haasan's Indian 2

Indian 2, the second instalment of director Shankar’s vigilante film Indian is currently in post-production. Shankar recently shared an update regarding the film’s visual effects work. The director, who is known for having innovative visual effects sequences in his films, shared a photo of him in a post-production set-up at the Lola VFX company headquarters in Los Angeles. The company is known for their brilliant ageing and de-ageing work in Marvel films such as the Captain America series and Ant-Man. Speculations are rife that Indian 2 will see a similar de-ageing process on lead actor Kamal Haasan. The actor’s earlier film Vikram was also reported to have a de-aged Kamal in the film, but the clip did not make the final cut. However, Shankar has not explicitly revealed that a younger version of the actor will be seen in the film.

Indian 2 is an action film which sees Kamal Haasan return as the vigilante Senapathi. It also stars Kajal Agarwal, Siddharth, Vivek, Rakul Preet Singh, Kalidas Jayaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Guru Somasundaram and Gulshan Grover. Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu serve as the cinematographers while Sreekar Prasad edits the film. Anirudh Ravichander scores the music. 

The film is backed by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner along with Udhayanidhi Stalin under the Red Giant Movies banner. The script was penned by Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar.
