Don Palathara’s Family premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and also won the ‘Best Film Award at the Third Eye Asian Film Festival. The award-winning film is now all set to hit the screens on February 23.
The gritty thriller focuses on some contemporary issues through the prism of a disjointed family. Don Palathar is known for his work in critically lauded films like 1956, Central Travancore (2019) and Santhoshathinte Onnam Rahasyam (2020). The film set in the backdrop of Idukki in Kerala features Vinay Fort, Divya Prabha, Aarsha Baiju and Jane Andrews in the lead cast. Family is penned jointly by Don Palathara and Sherine Catherine.
Family is bankrolled by Newton Cinema and has already completed its successful run at major film festivals around the world, bagging many prestigious awards in its run. The trailer for the film was recently launched by Anurag Kashyap in an event in Kochi along with the film’s core team. Jaleel Badusha has cranked the camera for the film, while Basil CJ has handled the music.
