Shivarajkumar’s Bhairathi Ranagal gets a release date (Kannada)

After the success of his caper film Karataka Damanaka, Shivarajkumar is all set to return to the big screens on August 15 with Bhairathi Ranagal. The film, which is a prequel to Narthan’s Mufti, will see Shivarajkumar reprise his role as the eponymous character. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth and Rahul Bose.

Bhairathi Ranagal was written and directed by Narthan and is backed by Geetha Shivarajkumar under the Geetha Pictures banner. Ravi Basrur handles the music while Naveen Kumar is the cinematographer. Shivarajkumar has a long slate of films, including Uttarakanda, IV Returns, and the untitled project with Hemanth Rao.

Ajith Kumar’s next is titled Good, Bad, Ugly (Tamil)

Ajith Kumar, who was last seen in 2023’s Thunivu will be collaborating with filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran for his 63rd film. The makers recently unveiled the title, Good, Bad, Ugly, along with a poster, which sees the title on a red background that resembles blueprints, with barbed wire in the foreground. The title and the vibe of the poster promise another action entertainer from Ravichandran, who helmed Mark Antony and Bagheera.

The film is backed by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythrie Movie Makers banner. Adhik Ravichandran’s regular collaborators DOP Abhinandan Ramanujam and editor Vijay Velukutty will be joining the team, while Devi Sri Prasad will be providing the music for the film. The film’s shooting is set to begin in June, with a scheduled release on Pongal 2025.

Dhanush’s Kubera Goes on Floors in Bangkok (Telugu)

Dhanush will be starring in Sekhar Kammula's Kubera. The title announcement teaser was released earlier this month on the occasion of Mahasivarathri and promised a spiritual journey of sorts. Now, the makers have announced that the crew had flown to Bangkok to complete a schedule of the film. The makers also mentioned that important talkie portions of the film will be shot in the schedule.

Kubera is directed by Sekhar Kammula, who wrote the film along with Chaithanya Pingali. The film is backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd. banners. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Jim Sarbh. Devi Sri Prasad handles the music for the film while Niketh Bommi cranks the camera.

Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram join hands for their next sports drama (Tamil)

The makers of actor Dhruv Vikram’s next film announced the project earlier today. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, who will be helming his fifth film, the new project is said to be a sports drama. Previously it was rumored that the film would be based on kabaddi played Manati Ganesh. However, there are no confirmations regarding the topic of the film.

Mari Selvaraj announced the project, in which he will be collaborating with Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand under the Neelam Studios banner along with Applesauce Entertainment. This would be the second film that Ranjith would be working on with Mari Selvaraj, as the former produced his debut feature film Pariyerum Perumal. Noted Malayalam actress Anupama Parameswaran will play the female lead.

Ratheesh Balakrishna Poduval's next to release on May 16, new song out (Malayalam)

Ratheesh Balakrishna Poduval's next directorial is Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hridayahaariyaaya Pranayakatha aka The Heartening Love story Of Sureshan& Sumalatha. The film is slated to hit the screens on May 16. As a part of the promotions, the makers have now released a new song 'Naadaake Naadakam' from the film.

The song is composed by Dawn Vincent and sung by Aloshi Adams, Sannidhanandan, Ashok T Ponnappan, Subramanian K V, and Raji. The lyrics are penned by Vaisakh Sugunan. Rajesh Madhavan and Chithra Nair play the roles of Sureshan and Sumalatha respectively, and Kunchacko Boban essays a crucial character in the film.

Shruti Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj star in a music video titled Inimel (Tamil)

RKFI, the production banner started by actor Kamal Haasan recently announced that they would be producing a music video featuring Shruti Haasan on vocals. Titled Inimel, the announcement poster included two neon-lit gaming controllers. The poster also mentioned that director Lokesh Kanagaraj would be featured in the music video. There are hints that it would be a romantic song as the Gen Z phrase “Delulu is the only solulu” is shown as the tagline.

Inimel is composed and conceptualised by Shruti Haasan, with Kamal Haasan writing the lyrics. The video is directed by Dwarkesh Prabhakar with cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda. Kanagaraj's regular collaborator editor Philomin Raj will also join the project. Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran produce the music video under the RKFI banner.

PRK Productions’ much-awaited O2 finally gets an update (Kannada)

Announced in 2019, O2 was then launched by the late Puneeth Rajkumar. The film recently announced that the first promotional material from the film will be released on March 17. Titled Emergency dose 1, it is expected to be a first-look poster.

O2 is written and directed by Raghav Nayak and Prashanth Raj. It stars Praveen Tej, Siri Ravikumar, Ashika Ranganath, Puneeth BA, and Gopalkrishna Deshpande. The film is backed by Ashwini Punneth Rajkumar under the PRK Productions banner. Vivan Radhakrishna handles the music while Deepu S Kumar handles the editing.

Fahadh Faasil's Aavesham gets a release date (Malayalam)

Fahadh Faasil's next film Aavesham is directed by Jithu Madhavan of Romancham fame. The makers have now released a new song from the film titled 'Galatta.' It is composed by Paal Dabba and Sushin Shyam with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar.

The action comedy is produced jointly by Anwar Rasheed under the banner of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments, along with Nazriya Nazim under the banner of Fahadh Faasil and Friends. The film will hit theatres on April 11.

Sundeep Kishan reunites with the makers of Ooru Peru Bhairavakona (Telugu)

Actor SundeepKishan was last seen in the supernatural thriller Ooru Peru Bhairavakona. After the success of the film, the actor is set to collaborate with producers AK Entertainment and Hasya Movies on his 30th film. Currently titled SK30, the film will be directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina and written by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada, both of whom collaborated on the hit Dhamaka. Razesh Danda, who produced Ooru Peru Bhairavakona will also be backing the upcoming film along with co-producer Balaji Gutta.

RJ Pradeepa announces the next outing from Sakkath Studio (Kannada)

Sakkath Studio has been a pioneer in the web series niche in the Kannada industry. After gaining a huge following due to their work on web series such as Loose Connection, the production house has now ventured into cinema. Many prominent celebrities such as Nagbhushana, Chaithra J Achar, Shashank Soghal, and Siri Ravikumar began a marketing campaign for Sakkath Studios’ next production Maryade Prashne.

The first look poster of the film sees an aerial view of Chamrajpete in Bangalore with the title and credits embossed on it. Maryade Prashne is the directorial debut of Nagaraj Somayaji. RJ Pradeepa produces the film, for which he has written the story as well. Sandeep handles the cinematography while Arjun Ramy handles the music.

Sree Vishnu-starrer Om Beem Bush gets a trailer (Telugu)

The makers of Sree Vishnu’s Om Beem Bush have released the film’s official trailer. The comedy also stars Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi, along with Ayesha Khan and Preity Mukundan. The trailer shows the lead trio as a gang of modern con men who have hoodwinked a village into doing their bidding by superstition. They are tasked with retrieving something from real Aghoris as their ‘powers’ are challenged.

Om Beem Bush is directed by Sree Harsha Konuganti, who helmed the film Hushaaru. It is backed by V Celluloid and Sunil Balusu and co-stars Preethi Mukundhan, Ayesha Khan, Srikanth Iyengar, Aditya Menon, and Racha Ravi. Sunny MR is the music composer while Raj Thota is the cinematographer.

Allari Naresh’s Aa Okkari Adakku gets a trailer (Telugu)

Actor Allari Naresh is all set to star in the upcoming comedy Aa Okkari Adakku. The film’s makers recently released the teaser which sees Naresh play a man who has not been married despite going past the ‘right age’. The teaser shows the number of questions and shenanigans that he has to face while being an ageing bachelor.

Aa Okkari Adakku is directed by Malli Ankam and is backed by Rajiv Chilaka under the Chilaka Productions banner. The film also stars Faria Abdullah, Vennela Kishore and Jamie Lever. Suryaa cranks the camera for the comedy while Gopi Sundar handles the music.

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham gets a jukebox release (Malayalam)

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next directorial Varshangallku Shesham is all set to be released on April 11. Kickstarting the promotions, the makers released the soundtrack album jukebox online. Debutant Amrit Ramnath composed the album of five songs, written by Vineeth Sreenivasan, Vishakh Sugunan, and Manu Manjith.

Varshangalkku Shesham is directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan and stars Nivin Pauly, Pranav Mohanlal, and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead roles, along with Dhyan Srinivasan, Aju Varghese, Neeta Pillai, and others. It's backed by Visakh Subramaniam under the Merryland Cinemas banner. Amrith Ramnath handles the music while Viswajith Odukkathil handles the cinematogrophy.

Diganth’s Powder gets first look poster and release date (Kannada)

Diganth, who was last seen in the comedy Bachelor Party, announced that it’s a wrap for his next project Powder. Directed by Janardhan Chikkanna of Gultoo fame, the first look poster of the film shows the ensemble cast of Diganth, Dhanya Ramkumar, Rangayana Raghu, Sharmeila Mandre and Gopalkrishna Deshpande. The poster also announced that the film will be released on July 12.

Powder is written and directed by Janardhan Chikkanna and is backed by Karthik Gowda, Yogi G Raj, Arunabh Kumar, and Vijay Subramaniam. The film is produced by a joint venture between KRG Studios and TVF Motion Pictures. Advaitha Gurumurthy cranks the camera for the film while Vasuki Vaibhav handles the music.

Saiju Kurup and Sunny Wayne star in Written & Directed by God (Malayalam)

The makers of the socio-fantasy film Written & Directed by God recently released the first look poster of the film. The poster sees Sunny Wayne as God sitting on a throne while a few Earths revolve around him. We also see Saiju Kurup at the bottom of the poster standing amidst an Olympus-like heavenly setting looking up at God. The film is directed by debutante Febi George Stonefield and is backed by Sanoob K Yoousef. Bablu Aju handles the cinematography while Shaan Rahman handles the music.

Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran’s Paradise gets a trailer (Malayalam)

The trailer of the Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran starrer Paradise was released recently. The film won the Best Film award at the Busan International Film Festival. The trailer sees Mathew and Rajendran as a married couple who travel to Sri Lanka amidst its economic crisis and face a robbery at their place of stay. The couple navigates the murky political landscape as the nation goes through a change.

Paradise is directed by Prasanna Vithanage and is backed by Newton Cinemas, with Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies presenting the film. Vithanage writes the film along with Anushka Senanayake. Rajeev Ravi has hndled the cinematography while Sreekar Prasad is the editor.

Sreenath Bhasi to make his Tamil debut with GV Prakash Kumar’s next (Tamil)

After his success with Manjummel Boys, actor Sreenath Bhasi has reportedly been signed on for a role in GV Prakash Kumar’s next film. The actor’s involvement in the yet-to-be-titled film was announced by Neelam Films, which is producing the project. The film is written and directed by Akiran Moses and also stars Pasupathy and Lingesh. GV Prakash handles the music while Selva RK handles the editing.
