In an exclusive with Film Companion, Editor-in-chief Anupama Chopra, Fahadh Faasil who has been on a back to back movie releases spree spoke about how the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa made the actor a pan-India star despite predominantly belonging to the Malayalam cinema.
“I don’t think Pushpa has done anything to me,” Faasil said in the interview. “I tell Suku sir [Sukumar] that. I don’t have to hide it, I have to be honest, I’m doing my stuff here. No disrespect to anything. I don’t think people expect magic from me from Pushpa. It's pure collaboration love for Suku sir, my stuff is here [Malayalam films], very clearly.”
Faasil plays the antagonist in the Pushpa franchise which is all set for the release of its second installment, Pushpa 2: The Rule on August 15. The film is directed by Sukumar and also stars Rashmika Mandanna in a lead role.
