Farhan Akhtar had recently shared in an interview, that he would be acting in a film directed by RS Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan. However, as per a report in Bollywood Hungama, a clash of dates with Don 3 may have led Akhtar to opt out of Khan’s film.
An industry source revealed to the portal, “Farhan Akhtar had said yes to the film, and was to lead the cast. Initially, the film was to go on floors in October. But now, the same has been moved to January 2024. The team is still to cast a few more members. For this, they require more time and hence decided on pushing the venture by three months.”
The source also added that with the announcement of Don 3, Akhtar may get busy with the film's pre-production work soon. Since the schedules were clashing, Akhtar requested Khan to let him opt out of his production.
The film in question is reportedly Champions, an official remake of the Spanish film Campeones (2018).
