Gadar 2 actor Manish Wadhwa says people advised him to reject the film

Manish Wadhwa is receiving a lot of appreciation for his performance as Major General Hamid Iqbal, the antagonist of Gadar 2. The actor has now shared that he was advised to reject the role when it was offered to him. 

Wadhwa revealed what people told him, “'Manish, you should wait, don’t do this. Gadar (2) is coming out after 22 years, we don’t know what will happen. Anil Sharma is not active in the market and there is Sunny Deol, he has also not done anything recently, and neither has Ameesha Patel.”

However, the actor took up the project and is delighted at the response the film has received. Sharing how he got the part, Wadhwa revealed director Anil Sharma’s reaction after meeting him. Sharma reportedly told Wadhwa, “You have good Hindi, you have a good voice, you are exactly what I want. But, you will have to meet Sunny Deol first since he is quite worried about who will play the villain in the film.”

Gadar 2 sees Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma reprise the characters of Tara Singh, Sakeena and Charanjeet from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). Both films are directed by Sharma.
