Gladiator 2: May Calamawy joins Ridley Scott’s historical drama, here’s a look at the star-studded cast

Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 has some big names attached to it. The film stars Normal People (2020) and Aftersun (2022) fame Paul Mescal. Mescal was nominated for Best Actor at this year's Academy Awards.

The film also stars Denzel Washington, Last of Us star Pedro Pascal, Stranger Thing’s Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen. After Barry Keoghan’s exit due to scheduling conflicts, the role of Emperor Geta is supposedly going to The White Lotus (2021) star Fred Hechinger.

Moon Knight (2022) and Ramy (2019) star May Calamawy has also joined the cast along with Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Peter Mensah and Matt Lucas.

Reprising their characters from the first movie are Nielsen and Jacobi. The script is being written by David Scarpa. Also returning from the original film are director of photography John Mathieson, production designer Arthur Max and costume designer Janty Yates. Paramount Pictures has dated the film for November 22, 2024.
