Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR Starrer War 2 may release Republic Day Weekend 2025

As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, filming for War 2, the next film from the YRF Spy Universe, is likely to begin in November this year. Producer Aditya Chopra is keen on releasing the film over the Republic Day weekend of 2025. War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan as his spy universe character Kabir, while Jr NTR will play the antagonist in the film. Unconfirmed reports claim that Kiara Advani is also a part of this movie.

A source told the portal, "Republic Day weekend is proving to be a great money spinner for the Hindi Film Industry. Be it Agneepath (2012) or Pathaan, both Hrithik and YRF have tasted success on this date and are now considering a Republic Day 2025 release for War 2. In fact, Hrithik's next, Fighter, is also set to release on the same weekend in 2024."

The source also added, "It's a tentative date and things have been worked around keeping this in mind. However, the exact date will be locked only once the film goes on floors in November. There is also a chance of the film being slightly delayed to mid-2025, but at the moment YRF is clear on targeting a Republic Day opening."

This year will see the release of two YRF Spy Universe films. Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone was released on January 25 this year and Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, which is scheduled to be released over the Diwali holiday this year.
