Indian 2: Director Shankar Promises Kamal Haasan-Starrer Will be a Treat

South superstar Kamal Haasan’s next with director S. Shankar is the highly-anticipated Indian 2, the sequel to the 1996 vigilante action film Indian. At a star-studded audio launch at the beginning of the month, the director took the opportunity to express his excitement about the upcoming film, hyping it up for the audience. “Every scene of Kamal Haasan would be a treat,” he claimed. 

Shankar also commended the contribution of musical composer Anirudh Ravichander to Indian 2. With “6 great songs” for the film, this is the first time the duo have collaborated. A glimpse of Indian 3 will reportedly be unveiled at the end of Indian 2, marking the continuation of the franchise. Indian 2, which is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Films, will also star Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead opposite Kamal Haasan, along with SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, and Samuthirakani. It will hit theatres on July 12, 2024.
