While talking about the changed dynamics of the Hindi Film Industry over the years, filmmaker Rohit Shetty shared an interesting anecdote when he worked as an Assistant Director in the 90s.

In a conversation with Anupama Chopra, Shetty revealed that during the shooting of Ajay Devgn and Kajol starrer Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha (1998), there is a scene of Devgn and Kajol near the church, the set used was from Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Josh (2000), Shetty said, “In Pyar toh hona hi tha I was the chief AD, in the film there is a shot if you see the film where Kajol is crying like her boyfriend has ditched her and she is just sitting beneath a big church and its raining you know vo Josh ka set hai, aaj koi nahi karega vo (that set is from Josh, today none will do it), they were shooting and then I think they were making some new schedule and Ajay spoke to Mansoor Khan and he said ki ha khali mera ye ye angle nahi karna and I was there, yes sir don’t worry, that shot where Kajol church ke neeche ro rahi hai vo josh ka set hain.”

Shetty revealed this on the Film Companion’s Front Row where he came to promote his debut web series Indian Police Force starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi. The series will drop on Amazon Prime Video from January 19.
