Kalki 2898 AD: Amitabh Bachchan Mistaken as Ravi Teja in the Teaser

A short introduction teaser of the much anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD was unveiled recently, introducing Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ashwatthama. Inspired from Mahabharata, 'Ashwatthama' is portrayed as an immortal character who has been awaiting the emergence of an avatar.

The teaser which was unveiled during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore gives a glimpse of a de-aged Bachchan who looks decades younger. The actor who has been in the movies for more than five decades now, had fans reacting to the younger Bachchan. ‘I thought it was Ravi Teja’, said one user. Another wrote, ‘This is Prabhas in a dual role.’

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has a star studded cast which includes, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The film is expected to release on May 9.
