GV Prakash Kumar is coming out with his next film titled Kingston (2023) as a lead. The film will also be his 25th film as a leading man. The big budget entertainer is written and helmed by Kamal Prakash who has worked earlier on the romantic comedy Kadhalikka Yaarum Illai (2019) also with GV Prakash in the lead role. The first look poster for the film was launched by Kamal Haasan on his social media handles. The poster features a lone man on a boat approaching an oncoming wave made of skeleton heads. The caption in the poster reads, 'Kingston and the Cursed Sea'.
The film is touted to be a fantasy horror entertainer set in a coastal backdrop.
Kingston will feature Divya Bharathi as the female lead opposite GV Prakash Kumar and will mark their reunion after working together earlier in Bachelor (2021).
The fantasy film will have cinematography by Gokul Benoy while the music will be composed by G V Prakash Kumar himself. San Lokes will be editing the film which will feature stunts and fight choreography by Dhilip Subbarayan. The project is being bankrolled jointly by GV Prakash Kumar and Zee Studios. Kingston is all set to release in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu next year.
