Karan Johar says Gadar 2 has blown everyone’s brains away

Karan Johar commented on Gadar 2’s success at a recent event and said, “Gadar has blown everyone’s brains away because it was a film which was hugely successful in 2001, and now in 2023, it is breaking every record. I have been so glad for the single screens,” Johar said.

Responding to a question on whom he would text if he managed to get his hands on Sunny Deol’s phone, Johar jokingly said that he would message the entire film industry and say, ‘This is how it’s done’. 

Reflecting on films that have performed successfully at the box office in recent times, Johar shared, “If you will see, all these movies that have done well are riding on one very strong quality, that is, core conviction. They are not looking at validation from anybody else, neither social media nor film critics. Everyone is making personable films that appeal to their sensibilities, and I think that’s what is going to happen, more of that in the future. We will be riding this wave every year.”

Johar’s film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released on July 28 and has earned approximately 145 crores at the Indian box office in the weeks after its release.
