Kartik Aaryan in talks with Chak De India Director Shimit Amin for a Period Musical

Director Shimit Amin, who helmed films like Chak De India (2007) and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009), is reportedly in talks with multiple producers on various subjects that he wants to work on.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Amin has approached Kartik Aaryan with a idea of a period musical that he feels the actor will be perfectly suited for. A source close to the development told the portal, “Kartik is among the actors who Shimit feels would fit the world of his period musical to the T. He had 3 to 4 meetings with Kartik to date and the actor has also shown interest in the script. More meetings are expected to take place in the weeks to follow.”

Amin last directed an episode of the Netflix series, A Suitable Boy (2020). Aaryan is currently shooting Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion. He has Aashiqui 3 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in the pipeline which he will begin work on next.
