Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, will now be released in theatres on December 8 in both the Hindi and Tamil versions. The film was originally supposed to be released on December 15.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced a change in the film's release date on X, formerly Twitter. Merry Christmas will clash with Siddharth Malhotra starrer Yodha at the box office. Ranbir Kapoor's film Animal and Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur will be released a week earlier on December 1 and later in the month, Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas starrer Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire will both be released on December 22.
Merry Christmas is produced by Ramesh Taurani, Jaya Taurani, Sanjay Routray and Kewal Garg. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, has been shot in Hindi and Tamil, with different supporting actors for each language.
The Hindi version stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand in supporting roles, while the Tamil version includes Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in the same roles. Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte will also make cameo appearances in the film.
