Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Fahadh Faasil, Vadivelu and Keerthy Suresh, is one of the most expected films of the year. The political drama is slated to be released in June. Kickstarting the promotions, the makers have dropped the film's first-look posters.
The first poster features Vadivelu and Udhaynidhi Stalin in serious avatars, seated on a raised platform. While Vadivelu is wielding a revolver, an injured Udhaynidhi is seen holding a machete. Interestingly, this will be the first time Vadivelu is playing a very serious role and his look in the first poster has got the internet talking. “Pirappokkum Ella Uyirukkum,” the makers wrote on Twitter.
Hyping up the expectations, they also released a second poster featuring Udhaynidhi Stalin, Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil, with the backdrop having elements of a chessboard — a king and two knights. This is Mari Selvaraj’s third outing after Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021). Bankrolled by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies, the film has music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Theni Eswar and editing by Selva RK.
