Vijay Sethupathi has come out with the first look poster for his upcoming film titled Maharaja (2023). The film is directed by Nithilan Swaminathan who is known for his work in Kurangu Bommai (2017). Maharaja will also be Vijay Sethupathy’s 50th feature film. The first look poster features a heavily stitched up Vijay Sethupathi sitting on a saloon chair with a butcher’s knife in hand with police officers looking on in the background. The bloodshed and imagery in the first look itself foreshadow an violent film with pungent imagery.

Maharaja is being bankrolled jointly by Passion Studios, and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banner The Route.

The film will feature Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natarajan Subramaniam in the supporting cast and Anurag Kashyap is expected to be playing a negative role in the film. Ajanesh Lokhnath has composed the music for the film while Dinesh Purushothaman is the cinematographer.

The crew of Maharaja also involves Philomin Raj who is the editor while V Selvakumar handles the art direction. Maharaja has completed its production and is in the post-production phase. The film is yet to get a release date.
