Akshay Kumar has dropped the trailer of his upcoming rescue thriller Mission Raniganj. The film is based on a real life incident that occurred at the Raniganj Coalfields in West Bengal on November 13, 1989. 65 miners became trapped 350 feet below the ground in a rapidly flooding mine. Jaswant Singh Gill, a mining engineer at the coal mine, worked against the clock to devise a solution to the problem and rescue all the trapped miners.
The trailer offers us a glimpse into the stressful and heartwrenching situation, where Gill (played by Kumar), has just 48 hours to rescue 65 miners trapped 350 feet below the ground. He has to face the angry family members of the miners, technical limitations and most importantly the lack of time to successfully complete a seemingly impossible rescue mission.
Actors Ravi Kishan, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra and Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who play pivotal roles in the film, are also seen in the trailer. The film also stars Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt and Omkar Das Manikpuri.
Mission Raniganj is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Ajay Kapoor. The film will be released in theatres on October 6.
