Nayanthara in talks with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a Pivotal Role in Baiju Bawra

As per reports in multiple publications, Nayanthara has been approached to play a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film Baiju Bawra. The actor, who recently made her Bollywood debut with Jawan, is reportedly considering the offer and is yet to sign on the dotted line. There have been speculations about a collaboration between Nayanthara and Bhansali ever since the actor was reportedly spotted at the filmmaker’s office earlier this year.

Baiju Bawra was originally made in 1952 by filmmaker Vijay Bhatt and starred Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari in the lead roles. Baiju Bawra, which translates to ‘Crazy Baiju’ is the story of a young singer named Baiju who challenges the great singer Tansen to a musical competition. Baiju believes Tansen is responsible for his father’s death and his only motive is to defeat the respected singer and avenge his father.

Bhansali’s version of the film will reportedly star Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
